Description

He is a shady character, and looks extremely deadly.
His long cloak covers most of his body, concealing weapons of unspeakable pain. You do not want to notice the numerous bloodstains about his person. Many have died at his hands.
He seems to have a permanent aura of darkness around him, and if he walks through the crowd, the normally ill-mannered citizens of Ankh-Morpork make sure to make way.
There seems to be something haunting him in his eyes that makes you uncomfortable in his presence.
You have a feeling that if you ask him, you will get a throwing knife in the throat. If your lucky.

Mess with him, and you will soon meet the guy who TALKS LIKE THIS.

Personal Story

Mortifi, when he was young, was born to be an assassin.
It was not that he loved killing, but he came from a family of great assassins. The Bloodspitters.
They were highly respected in the guild, and none had ever failed the Run.

But one fine day, some thieves lit the Bloodspitter mansion. The mansion blazed, and only Mortifi came out. The thieves which were responsible, had tried to break in. The ensuring fight with the Bloodspitter parents knocked over a candle, and burned the loving home to the ground

He was graciously brought up by Silverthorne Antares, who trained him in the ways of an Assassin, such as stealth, inhumation, and, of course, style. He was enrolled in the Assassins Guild of Ankh-Morpork.
But Mortifi had lost all sense of love, and everything he had. Slowly, as a student, he worked his way up and rebuilt his life, leaving a mockery to what it had once been. There was still the family fortune, and Mortifi got himself a place to stay. He seemed normal, but the few who got really close around him noticed that he didn't seem to smile. At all. It was faintly disturbing

He then went for the Run, and passed on the first try. Miss Band, his examiner, found him suitable, having survived the traps and hitting the dummy, and was more than happy to pass him.
Mortifi proceeded to close contracts, building up a successful profile. All the surviving thieves responsible for the blaze that night mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again.

He later took two apprentices, so as to repay the kindness given by his master, Silverthorne. They were Oskara and Aizawa, and he pinned high hopes on them both.

Family Story

The Bloodspitters were from Ankh, and one of the greatest old families of Assassins in Ankh-Morpork. None had ever failed the Run, and closed many a contract. They were also on very good terms with the other Assassin families, such as the Selachii and even the Vetinaris, although they preferred to stay out of the limelight, but were always present at cocktail parties and balls, that all rich families go to. They mainly kept to themselves.

With the large amount of money, the Bloodspitters built a grand mansion, a home for many a generation. Unfortunately, it was burned down, as mentioned in the above story. Lord Vetinari sent his condolences.

Many a Bloodspitter has joined the Guild, and left a indelible mark in the guild and its members. They were very highly respected.

Now it is time for the Bloodspitters to rise again, under the last descendant. A person, called Mortifi
