Description

Wynk is a young adult who, depending on the day and her mood, can look as young as sixteen years or as old as twenty six. Standing five foot four, she has a light wiry build and a fidgety stance. She keeps her short brown hair dyed bright white with a blood-red shock down the front, more often than not opting to let it hang loose and unstyled.

Typical to a certain type of girl her age, she dresses nearly all in black. Rather than restricting herself to the stylish black silk of her one-time guild, Wynk can be found wearing anything dark, be it brand new well-tailored or rife with tears, snags and signs of poor workmanship. And she's pale, oh so pale...

Personal Story

Wynk's earliest memories are of her siblings calling her "Winky" and "Blinky", a moniker earned during the healing process of some eye trauma recieved as an infant. As a result, she wound up identifying herself as Winky (later shortened and stylized to Wynk) before ever associating herself with her real name.

Alternately alienated and abused by both family and neighbours from a young age, Wynk tries not to remember stealing away from her unhappy travelling home in the dead of night to seek a better life. Eventually she came to wander the streets of Ankh-Morpork, where nearly all lost trash seems to wind up. The circumstances leading up to her studying at the Guild of Assassins are a bit hazy, but she does remember feeling that if she failed at it, at least she would be granted quick death and escape from her miserable life.

Much to her disbelief, once she settled in she found out she was able to survive with these people, some pretentiously aloof and others, like her, loathe to recall their past. Aching for a real family, she impulsively stalked down and befriended a frustratingly beguiling thief she had the chance to meet on a random errand, and now holds a special place in her battered little heart for the soul (technically soul-less) kind enough to take her under his wing.

Once an active figure in her lifestyle, recently Wynk finds herself drifting away, leaving her guild behind after its turbulent split, abandoning half-finished projects and feeling compelled to spend increasingly large amounts of time isolated from her family.

Family Story

Though she tries to come off as alone in the world, or at least an only child, Wynk is in reality the product of two rather large families.

She was born a middle child to a troubled pseudo-nomadic family, with both older sisters, and older and younger brothers that she's aware of, as well as a number of half-brothers and -sisters dotted about. Members of a travelling gypsy-like troupe of caravans, most of her friends and family were on a first-name basis with each other. If she has a last name or birthright, she's blissfully ignorant of it. Since her arrival in Ankh-Morpork, Wynk has tried to keep as much of this earlier life buried and forgotten as possible.

Instead, she rather abruptly implanted herself into the Casaubon family, badgering one Lune Casaubon into adopting her and clawing out her own niche from there. Though occasionally and unintentionally causing those she's come to love some serious grief, she normally gets along with her haphazard crew of siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles like a house on fire.

Wynk maintains she shares no blood with the man she calls Dad, contrary to the rumours that occasionally grow up around her style of dress, his state of vitality, and just how well they get along sometimes.

Comments

Wynk is, at most times, extremely either an aloof or argumenative character, alternately ignoring or lashing out in a vincitive or petty way at the people close to her. By no means should this be taken as an implication that the Player behind Wynk feels remotely close to the same way about your player/character; in many cases the inverse is often true.

Wynk is attempted to be played as much in-character as possible; OOC interaction is limited to tells and remotes which are denoted (OOC).
